8 years ago a massive oil spill paralyzed this little fishing village. Before the spill, caused by a tanker called Prestige, too many fishing boats exploited the resources from it’s very abundant waters. Generations of fishermen realized their young preferred pursuing a new life of education.
Today the waters have healed and the number of fisherman has been reduced to less than a decade before, but they are more productive and respectful to the bounties they harvest. A new appreciation and awareness arose from a tragedy. Could this be what we are looking at for in our Gulf of Mexico?
