After working on and off-air at a bunch of stations in New England, he hung up the headphones to concentrate on a career in research at television (ABC, CBS) and record labels. In 1996, Rich began writing Hz So Good, a lighthearted monthly e-newsletter about music, radio and music radio. In 2009, Rich was encouraged to take those headphones back down from the wall. Now he's at WRNJ Saturdays, and, like Sir Lew White, also DJs on WGHT in Pompton Lakes.
